Modern Woodmen’s fundraiser for Visual Bucket List nets $14K

A Modern Woodmen fundraiser included a dining in the dark event March 3 at Westbrook Country Club. MANSFIELD — Modern Woodmen of America members in Mansfield recently helped raise money for The Visual Bucket List Foundation with a special event on Saturday, March 3. The event, which included a formal dinner, live entertainment, dancing and a raflle at Westbrook Country Club called “Dining In The Dark,” raised $14,000. This includes $7,000 matched by Modern Woodmen through the organization’s Matching Fund Program. The funds will be used to help children in the area who face losing some or all of their sight from a debilitating disease achieve their “Visual Bucket List” dream. 300×250 image ad It will help these children and their families create a memory that will last a lifetime, said Lauren Brown of Modern Woodmen. The Matching Fund Program offers Modern Woodmen members nationwide the chance to show their support for a community cause, organization or individual in need through fundraisers, she said. These fundraising projects contribute more than $10 million to community needs across the country each year. 300×250 image ad “The community truly came together to support a local need,” Brown said. “That support is what it’s all about.” Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, the fraternal financial services organization’s Summit chapters, chapters and youth service clubs provide opportunities for members to take part in social and educational activities and volunteer projects to meet local needs.
